Here we offer an 18ct GOLD, English Fusee Lever Pocket Watch, which is in very good condition and has a London Hallmark for 1833c . It is an early Table Roller Lever, which is working well and keeping time. It has a diamond end-stone and steel balance and is Key Wound on the back and and Key Set on the Dial.
It is housed in an 18ct GOLD Case, which is Stamped with the Makers Mark J.W (John Wells, Queen St., Clerkenwell – see Priestley) and bears the Crown 18ct Gold Mark. It is 44mm in diameter (59mm incl. Solid Gold Pendant ring) – (25.4mm =1 inch) and weighs 69.1 grams, so without movement and glass, the case weighs 35grams and has a gold content of €995 (approx), at today’s prices.
The 40mm Solid Gold Dial is profusely decorated in the outer chapter ring with individual characters in 4 colour gold, intricately spaced around the circumference. It has raised solid gold Roman Numerals; the chapter ring is machined in a dotted pattern, whilst the centre is decorated with gold floral tributes. It has a raised Glass Crystal, Gold Breguet Hands and is being sold as described and in the condition as shown in the pics – (Ref : L 776). It is priced at €1100.
