Here we offer an 18ct GOLD Pocket Watch by ‘Fs. & Ae. Meylan a Geneve’, which has a very thin L’epine Calibre Movement and dates to 1830 circa. ( Kathleen Pritchard states that this company operated between the years 1820 and 1840).
It has a 4 Jewel Ultra-Thin Cylinder escapement (the rim measures just 6 mm), which is running very well and keeping good time ( +3 mins in over 24 hrs). It is Key Wound and Key Set on the back.
It is housed in an 18ct GOLD Case that is in almost new conditon and is not Stamped, as was the norm until the late 1800s. It is 47mm in diameter (62mm incl. pendant ring) and bears Serial Number 22528, with an inscription N.D.D. 2-12-49 ; the cuvette is profusely signed, as shown in the pics – Note : 25.4mm = 1 inch
The SILVER Metal Dial is covered by a Glass Crystal and is in superb condition, with exquisite engine turning. It has Black Roman numerals which are in excellent condition and a lovely pair of Breguet Gold Hands Hands. It is being sold as described and in the condition as shown in the pics – (Ref : 438 D)
