General Description:
This is a Rare 9ct Gold Gents Wristwatch, which has a Half-Hunter Case, with a Flip Release button at 6pm. It bears the sponsors mark A.G.R (Arthur George Rendell of Robert Pringle & Sons – one of the UK’s largest wholesalers of jewellery, silverware and watches and has an Edinburgh Import Mark for 1926c. The high quality movement is by Beguelin (BTC of Tramelon) and is identical to those they supplied to Rolex for their Rolco Brand (see David Boettcher at vintage watchstraps.com)
The 15 Jewel Movement is 12 1/2 lignes in size and is in very good condition, with the plates decorated in beautiful circular graining. It is running very well; keeping very good time and a new balance staff has just been fitted by my Watchmaker.
The 9ct Gold Case measures 34mm in width (including crown) and 38mm to the lugs. It is in very good condition, with just a few short creases on the back at 12. It is signed as shown and bears SN 247305 and is stamped 9.375, with an Edinburgh date mark for 1926c – (Ref. ACC419)
