General Description:
This is a Silver Captains Watch, which is in very good cosmetic condition and working order. It has a Dual Time Zone Dial for Dublin & London and has a constant centre seconds hand.
The 42mm Dials have Arabic & Roman Numerals and is signed A,J. – “Exhibition Prize Medal 1867”. It is in excellent condition, with no apparent flaws and has a set of blue steel hands.
The Swiss Cylinder Movement has Gilt Plates and winding arbors for the Barrell and for each of the Dials, which can be set to different time zones. It is Key Wound and Set on the back.
The 48mm Diameter (65mm. incl ring : 25.4mm = 1 inch) Silver Case is signed W.C. (William Chinn, 37 Hill St. Coventry – see Priestley) and bears Chester Hallmarks for 1888, as shown in the pics. It is in very good condition, with no apparent flaws and the engine turning on the back is like new.
