Here we offer a rare Massey 2, Fusee Lever Pocket Watch, which has an Enamel Dial and is in very good condition. The Movement is signed R. Roskill, Liverpool; is working very well and keeping time to within 5 mins per day. It is Key Wound on the Back, Key Set on the Dial and bears the sn 2635 with Case Maker’s initials W•M.
G.H Baillie, lists a number of Roskells working in Liverpool in the early 19th Century.
The Movement is in very good cosmetic and working condition, bears sn 2635 and is signed as shown in the pics.
It is housed in a Silver Consular Case, which measures 54mm in diameter and is 18mm deep – (25.4mm =1 inch). It is in very good condition, bears Silver hallmarks with a year date for Chester 1840c. There is a pinhole size ding on the cuvette. It has been inscribed on the inside back with the name of a former Irish owner. There are a number of tiny dings and marks on the back at the 12 position.
The 46mm White Enamel Dial is in very good condition, has large Roman Numerals, a Glass Crystal and blue spade hands.
It is being sold as described and in the condition as shown in the pics and comes to you directly from a large Irish Watch Collection, which was assembled over the past 40-50 year – Ref :ACC260.
