General Description
Here we offer a Silver, French Verge Fusee Pocket Watch, which is in excellent condition and dates to 1800c. The Dial is signed Rondel – a St. Fromond (Normandy) and the Dial Plate is signed Chopard . sn 653. The Case bears the Maker’s Mark G.E in a lozenge and sn 6842. It is working very well and keeping time to within 10mins per day. It is Key Wound on the back and and Key Set on the Dial and has a metal chain attached, which measures 390mm..
The Verge Fusee Movement is signed Chopard; bears sn 653 and is in very good cosmetic and working condition. The signature probably refers to Chas Chopard of Limpach (in Luxembourg, near French Border), who is listed by Pritchard as working 1800c.
It is housed in a Silver Consular Case, signed as described above and bears the French Crab Assay Mark on the rim. It is in very good condition and is 49mm in diameter and 20mm deep – (25.4mm =1 inch).
The 38mm Porcelain Dial is in very good condition. It has Arabic Hour Numerals and Gold Minute markers. It is beautifully inscribed and decorated and has the winding hole at 13.30, which is in superb condition and without any chipping. It has a raised Glass Crystal; Gold Sunburst Hands and is being sold as described and in the condition as shown in the pics – (Ref : L782). It is priced at €575, or nearest offer.
