General Description:
This is a Waltham Vanguard Railroad PW, Model 1892, 23J Adjusted 5 Positions,18sz Movement. It is housed in an AWC – Fortune – Gold Filled Case. It is in very good cosmetic condition and working order: is accurate to within 1 min per day and has a 45 Hr Mainspring.
The 45mm Montgomery 24hr. Enamel Dial has Arabic Numerals and is signed Waltham. It is in good condition; has small hairlines at 11.18 and 39 and small chips at 18 and at the lever set position. It has a set of blue steel hands.
The Model 1892 Movement has Nickle Plates and bears s/n 16158311, which dates to 1907c manufacture. It is signed Waltham Vanguard, Adjusted 5 Positions, 23 Jewels. It has a Breguet hairspring, a precision regulator. and is Stem Wound and Lever Set. The plate is in beautiful condition, with Gold lettering and superb wavy line engine turning.
The 55mm Diameter (78mm. incl ring : 25.4mm = 1 inch) Gold Filled Case is signed AWC Co, Fortune Gold Filled, as shown in the pics. It is in good condition, with 1 ding at centre back and some rubbing of the bezel, especially between the 3 and 7 o’clock positions. It bears sn 803080 and is a swing out style..
